Tri-State Transit Authority (TTA) will conduct its annual “Food-For- Fares” drive on Saturday, November 21st. One canned food item will be accepted for fare all day long in place of cash, passes and value cards on TTA buses and Dial-A-Ride vans.
The Food-For-Fares drive is a long-standing annual event sponsored by TTA on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. The food that TTA collects is donated to the Huntington City Mission to help meet the needs of the holiday season.
Individuals and groups who do not regularly ride TTA transit are invited to bring canned food donations to TTA Center, located on the corner of 4th Avenue and 13th Street in downtown Huntington. Contributors can park in the bus stop in front of the bus station and bring their donations inside the front door where a receptacle will be conveniently located.
